Alf's Restaurant in Alta, Utah is a mid-mountain restaurant & day lodge located at the base of the Sugarloaf & Cecret chairlifts. Alf's offers employment, housing, and ski benefits.

Alf's Restaurant will begin hiring for the 08-09 season in September. Employment begins in early November and continues through the middle to end of April. We will have positions available for full-time live-in and part-time live-out cafeteria help.

-Full time live-in
The full time live-in positions are great for people who want to do a lot of skiing this winter. These jobs are 5 days per week and the hours vary, but there is ski time every day. The housing is dorm style and is located near the base of the Sugarloaf Lift halfway up the mountain. The lift is less than fifty yards from the door! -Part time live-out
The part time position is 14 hours per week. These positions are two days a week. The hours are 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. The work includes, but not limited to food prep, deli work, bussing tables, snow removal, etc. Ski privileges are included. Housing is not available for these positions.

Building Maintenance is currently hiring. Duties include; janitorial, snow removal and light repairs. The position is live-in and full-time.

Friendships from the French Alps inspire the daily, rotating menu at Collins Grill. Stunning views of Mt. Baldy take your breath away. White tablecloths mirror the snow covered terrain that surrounds this new day lodge, Watson Shelter, accessed by the Collins Lift. Skiers enjoy unpretentious, full service in the style of a European, on-mountain bistro. Hearty, rabbit stew and Morgan Valley organic lamb shanks are signature dishes. The stew is simply sautéed vegetables and free-range rabbit in a natural mustard broth.

We need full- and part-time kitchen help including: Full and part-time line cooks, pantry and utility people.

Also looking for part-time hosts/hostesses and a barista. There is no housing for dining room service people. Benefits at Collins Grill are the same as all other Alta Ski Area employee benefits.

Have fun working outdoors while viewing spectacular scenery. This is a great opportunity to get to know the mountain. Job responsibilities may include loading chairs, checking tickets, snow removal and lift operations. Full-time positions with, or without, housing are available. The Alf Engen Ski School is hiring certified professionals to teach alpine and telemark skiing to adults, children and families during the 2008 – 2009 season.

We are a skilled and dedicated staff of 100 pros teaching in a destination resort setting. Alta skiers are serious about developing their skills and expect exceptional quality and value in their ski school experience. Alta’s world famous snow, (680” of it last season), our unique terrain diversity and top ski school reputation create the opportunity to teach skiers of all levels, including a high percentage of upper level skiers, both adults and children.

• PSIA Level 1, 2 or 3 Certification Required

Apprentice instructors are support personnel in the operation of the children’s Ski Adventures Program. They work under the guidance of certified instructors and have the opportunity to pursue their own PSIA certification during the course of the ski season. As it will be necessary to work in alpine ski equipment, strong alpine skiing skills of advanced or higher level are required. A high comfort level working with 4-8 year old children is needed along with excellent interpersonal communication and enthusiastic customer service skills. Tolerance for hard, outdoor physical work such as lifting, bending, twisting and ability to shovel will be necessary in all weather conditions. A food handler's permit required.

Be a part of the world famous Alf Engen Ski School by interacting with our skiers in Ski School Sales and Reservations. Excellent customer service and cashiering skills are required; phone etiquette and computer skills are helpful. You may be scheduled to work at one of our on-mountain sales facilities. Full- and part-time positions are available.

ALTA SKI SHOP
Alta Ski Shop is accepting applications for Rental Techs, Ski Tuning & Service Shop Techs, Retail Sales Positions, Cashiers, and a Back Office Assistant for data entry and E Store order fullfillment. We are looking for outgoing, friendly, self starters. Applicants should be passionate skiers who are ready to join a team of successful ski retail professionals. Successful candaidates will enjoy ski time daily to fuel their passion for our sport and a host of other benefits. Applicants will be contacted in Oct for an interview.

Join the Skier Services team and experience the fun of meeting and helping people around the ski area. This is an 8:30-5 position and includes on terrain assistance for our skiers, meet and greet, general ski area information and ticketing system assistance. Strong ski skills to assist in powder conditions are required. Three days per week is desired from opening day until closing (approximately mid November to mid April).

This job offers a fun environment and flexible work hours that allows for plenty of ski time. Full- and part-time positions are available, as well as housing opportunities for several of the full-time positions. These positions will be filled during the months of October and November.

These are the coolest jobs on the mountain. You have to ski to get to work. We have rotating am and pm schedules to allow for hours to ski each day. Watson Shelter is mid mountain in the Collins Gulch right next to the Collins Lift angle station. The Watson Cafeteria serves delicious lunch all day. We are looking for a front line manager, cafeteria cooks, bussers and dishwashers, full-time or part-time. We are also looking for a cafeteria floor manager, 35 hrs a week, duties to include cooking, ordering, restocking and supervising staff.
